Mary

six years ago, she left me

she left this world

she was free from pain

but I was not

my pain had only just begun

I had to let her go

a decision that haunts me to this day

but I had to let her go

the house was empty

it was full of life

but she was missing

she left this world

she left a hole in my heart

I could hear her breathing

but she was gone

I began to forget the way she felt sleeping next to me

how could I forget?

numbness

I felt deeply or nothing at all

would I ever heal?

how could I?

she was gone and I was still here

without her

time passed with no meaning

until I discovered her

Mary

she helped me through a difficult place

she gave me hope and light when I felt there was none

her words sit on my nightstand

I read them every day

as a reminder that those we love are never truly gone

six years ago, she left me

but she is still here today

she did not die

Mary Frye,

I thank you.

Sincerely.

From the bottom of my heart.
