Mary

Seems like ever since we met

I've been on this daring mission

to dismiss or validate

This growing condition

Once mistaken for just lust

It's so much greater

a feeling once lost to mental rust

and a heart riddled with scars

My player persona crumbling

heart racing "a date... let's go on a date"

I lose my nerve; Silence

Just thinking it and the butterflies are rumbling

Since the words elude me

in person while chatting

I'll try it right here

"Will you go out with me Mary"
