Mary Madeline

It's time to speak truth

Break the self-destructive barriers

That my own mind has congured

It's time to set myself free

Of who I am not

I am not someone else's opinion of who I am

I am not all the things I am running from

I am not the darkness I fight

I am not the scars of my past

I am not the fears I keep inside

I am not the feelings that I fight

I am not the seemingly unconquorable dream

I am not the sins I hold back

I am not the tears that sting my eyes

It's time to set myself free

To be who I am

I am the person I am struggling to be

Because what that person doesn't know

Is that the struggle

Is forming her into the person

She always hoped she'd be

And that person

Is me
