Mask

how far can you see into my eyes?
tell me, what do you see?
can you hear my heart shatter?
could you see the monster i used to be?
can you feel my dream to mean the world to one, not one to the world?
do you see the distance i keep between my heart and soul?
of course you can't, and you never will.
i'll keep it that way until...
kiss me now, i'm dying tonight.
i can love no more, it don't feel right.
i remember being happy, but i can feel it no more.
love hath shut its door on me long ago.
my eyes are all you can see from the holes in my mask;
where i forever dwell in my dark, twisted past.
but what can you see?
can you see it at all?
do you love me enough to look past my facade?
some day i'll be young enough to love again.
i'll stay with you until then.
