Mask

A mask of someone I stare at every morning. The mirror stares back at me. The mask of someone that confuses her. Her eyes narrowing as I speak. The mask of someone I wish I could see. Her lips curling as I think. The mask of someone I want to be. Her innocent, chubby face that is not as innocent as I appear to be. The mask of someone I want to defeat. Her ice brown eyes as cold as the wintry sea. The mask of someone I want to comfort. Her nervous fingers combing the tangled ink hair. The mask of someone I love. The ice melts in her eyes and tiredness weighs her shoulders once again. The mask of someone I hate. The all too familiar hatred grows in her dark brown eyes. The mask of someone I can't deny as me.
