Mask

We all wear masks and cover what’s within

We pretend we don’t care

We hide under our skin

Is it cause we are scared

For people to discover

All that we’ve been through

All we’ve tried to cover

But our past is our past

And our choices are our choices

And maybe it won’t last

If we hear some friendly voices

But we remain in fear of opinions that don’t matter

Because a mask can’t be removed if it’s stuck on for the better
