The mask

She smiles back when she is frowning inside

Smiling with a fake smile for she is unhappy

Saying to herself she isn't good enough

She thinks the smiles to her are just being pity

Regretting getting out of bed every time

She is tired of wearing the mask

Her mask is her fake identity

The mask is her safe zone

Even though it isn't very safe

It tears her down every time she puts it on

She gets tired quicker than others because she tries so hard

She tries to hide her sadness and depression

Pity will only come to her

The pity is not worth showing her true identity

Torn down everyday by making sure she does everything right

Her story is near done

She goes home from school

Goes into her room and sits down in front of a mirror

She cries thinking why couldn't she have done better

Wanting to know why she is like the way she is

She writes a letter to her mom saying she is sorry

Saying she should have tried harder

She couldn't wear the mask any longer

She took it in her hand

Tears are streaming down her face

She is done with everything

She had to go

The world is better without me she said

Goodbye

She drove it into her

It slowly drops from her hand onto the floor

flowing out it was everywhere

She regretted doing it immediately

She wanted her mom though she was no where to be found

Telling herself everything is better the world has one less problem

One less problem to worry about

She lays on the floor closing her eyes

Falling asleep for a final time
