The Mask
Everyday I wake up to put on this beautiful deceiving mask
Day by day it's getting harder to complete this difficult task
This mask only shows what it wants people to see
It's shows that I am the happiest person I can be
When in reality I'm not happy I'm not fine
I'm actually having a very hard time
I'm suffering from a lot of pain on the inside
But I've got a mask to hide
All the lost time and scattered dreams
Fighting day after day to see what life really means
Is this a nightmare or am I really awake
The life that I'm living just has to be fake
Tick tock tick tock time continues to pass
I continue to hide behind this make believe mask
Everytime I sit and think about how fast time flies
I am haunted by this simple question
Am I truly fine?
I try so hard not to feel as if life has me beat
But there goes my weak mind reminding me of these expectations everyone wants me to meet
From this point on I am determined to take off this mask
It's time to be what I can honestly be not what everyone wants to see but the BEAUTIFUL , CONFIDENT, and SMART me
I am done with this mask now I can say I have sincerely completed this task.
