The Mask

No one sees the true side of me,

People only see what they choose to see,

Everyone thinks I am I should be,

They cannot see through the mask.

We all act as though we are fine,

But if you read between the lines,

Everybody has something to hide,

A reason to wear a mask.

The mask is always present,

Hiding what we resent,

The terrible things that no one knows,

The pain is hidden, but it only grows,

If it's hidden behind the mask.
