The Mask
This is what you see,
When you all look at me;
A smile, a blush,
Who's joy roams about free.
But it's what you don't know,
That inside of me grows;
I every day, all day, fight
So the real me won't show.
You think I just fly,
But the tears that I cry..
Every day in the mirror.
I wish I'd just die.
Because we wear the mask.
Those like me wear the mask.
But you don't see, there, the mask.
To the mask, our skin will grow.
Because we bear the mask.
Those like me bear the mask.
But you could never fare the mask
Because never can our masks show.
I can't tell you when I'm sad.
I know you'd only be mad.
And in my mind..
I know it'd be bad.
And it's what you can't see
From which I'll never be free
Because I wear the mask;
Or does the mask wear me?
