The Mask
Look at Me,
What do you see?
Do you see me,
Or the me I choose for you to see?
I can be the wall-flower,
Or I can be the life of the party.
I can be the class genius,
Or the one asking all the questions.
I can be the seductress,
Or the shy little virgin.
I can be the childish girl,
Or the mature one who leads the way.
I can be the glue that holds the pieces together
Or the broken glass that needs to be held.
I can be the parent caring for their small child,
Or the child that needs comfort.
Who am I?
What do you see?
I can't find me,
Because I don't know me.
To know me,
To find me,
To even catch a glimpse of myself
Would answer so many questions.
But you don't see that when you look at me
Do you?
You see confidence
You see smiles
You hear laughter all day.
Because it is not your concern.
You cant know me,
Until I know me4.
So until I find me.
Learn my masks,
Learn the pieces I show you.
So maybe one day we can meet me together...
