The Mask of Depression
We laugh, joke, and smile.
None of it is real.
At least for me it’s not.
I’m fine, I’m fine, I’m fine.
It was a mistake to ask, to try.
No one understands.
It’s my problem.
I’m fine, I’m fine, I’m fine.
I’m all alone.
But it’s okay.
I don’t need them.
I’m fine, I’m fine, I’m fine.
The pain is too much to bear.
I can’t eat.
I can’t sleep.
I’m fine, I’m fine, I’m fine.
This will pass.
This will pass.
I can do this myself.
I’m fine, I’m fine, I’m fine.
