This Mask I Wear

I enjoy making others happy.

Feeling important is essential for humans. I make them feel important, I believe

they matter ... but on the inside...

On the inside I'm broken, bruised and in pain...

I hide these tears for months until one day I am in complete darkness...

Longing to be whole or at least normal...

Wishing that this pain would someday magically disappear...

Yet I keep going and pushing, my pride is too big to give up

... although somedays I want to.

Having to hide my sadness from those I care about

they don't even know I'm hurting.

The mask I wear of an emotionally sane person.
