the mask you wear

The look,

In your eyes,

It shows a glimpse of a past not wanting to be told again.

The night,

Holds all the darkness of the world,

As I stare into the abyss of pitch black nothingness.

I shudder,

For I am bewildered by that feeling you give me,

So cold,

Yet so forceful,

I can feel the pain,

The burden of carrying all that baggage,

In your heavy heart.

You're seen as a monster.

Merciless creature of the shadows,

With whetted teeth,

Which send chills down the backs of the encountered,

And leave them speechless,

Like they are witnessing a never before seen phenomenon.

But behind the obscurity,

Hidden behind the mask you wear,

You shine,

Like the sun,

Everyday.

You are not a beast to me.

To me,

You are everything.
