Masks
I am no more
I'm gone at last
No more pain
It will finally pass
The mask I wore each day
I hid my sorrow
I hid my pain
A smile I wore
But it faded so fast
I'm no longer breathing
I'm no longer here
What killed me each day
All of my fear
Is finally gone
My pain is set free
When I look down
I see what came to be
Was this life not worth living?
Was the pain not worth fighting?
I see children starving
I see children dying
I look at the streets
Although I'm not here
I still feel the pain
So I ask of you
Which mask do you wear?
One that is happy?
One that is sad?
One that is angry or one that is mad?
The masks that we wear
They hide us so well
Nothing is real
Nobody can tell
Who you really are
What you really do
Is all of this worth it?
Is what I ask of you.
