Masks
A mask for happiness
To hide my sadness
And a mask for sadness
to fit in with the crowd
A mask to be polite
to hide my rudeness
And a mask for rudeness
because some people deserve it
A mask of popularity
to hide my loneliness
A mask of loneliness
to gain popularity
If my masks disappear…
Will the real me show...
or am I already lost?
If my masks disappear...
Will people still view me the same?
Will they see the broken girl that put the masks on?
Will they see the young woman removing the masks?
Perhaps if my masks disappear…
I will disappear alongside them.
My masks have become a part of me
Just as I have become a part of them
