Masks

This may be hard to believe...

I think I hide it well,

But really, I am quite shy and hide within my shell.

Sure I may be loud...

In your face sometimes too,

it's only because I'm afraid to open myself up to you.

This may be hard to believe...

Most days I must put on a brave face,

I think it suits me well, helps me find my place.

You'd probably never think that...

That I am as shy as I say,

Just do, for me, because I put on that mask most days...
