Masks
It may be the truth
It may be a farce
At least we know who we are
In this crazy world full of masks
And innocence that will never last
We observe while portraying a face
Not our own, of course
For we are in a deadly place
But all alone, we know who we are
Deep inside, we bear terrible scars
On our hearts, our minds, our bodies
We pray for a better place
Where innocence can be salvaged
And where there are no masks
Covering the face of many
No fear there
But such a place cannot appear
For there must always be fear
And masks are forever here
