Masochist
Tell me you love me
Even if you don't mean it
It's just something that
I need to hear right now
But only from you
As we snuggle up closer
To each other and listen
To all of the things we left
Unsaid sweet nothings
Although I hope this is more then nothing
Because that would surely bring
Tears to my already swollen eyes
Maybe if I love you enough
You'll grow to love me as well
But even I know that's foolish
Thinking of you night and day
Because I have nothing better to do
And I hope you do the same
Maybe I'm just a silly girl
And you're just trying to get lucky
Yet luckily I have you now
So why taint that with the future
Tomorrow can bring a sickness
That only true heartbreak can bring
Me to my knees with sweet sorrow
If you only see me
As just another notch in your belt
So please, just tell me
That you love me even if
The words don't ring true
Because I want to hold onto this happiness
I want to hold onto you tonight
Without any feelings of dread for us
Or that inevitable pain I'll feel
When I wake up and realize that you're not there
To pretend to love me any longer
