The Masochist

Her chances are as good as any

But she dances on the edge because she knows she is most beautiful before she falls.

She is a hypocrite

Doomed to do great things

And commit mistakes until they become lessons.

There is a heart inside her chest

But she tends to stopper the flow of blood before the heart attack comes.

The path she walks is good

Paved with benign intentions and hopeful aspirations

Though the mist encircles her steps

On the path along the edge she continues to dance

Her feet are bloodied and bare

And she repeats the steps still while she screams at herself to stop
