Mason Jar of Life

Pickles

Floating in a brine of garlic and dill

until

one day they jar is empty, it's use

finished.

~

and yet, by my side, for years

a jar with a faded lable, 'Smileys Dill Pickles'

perfect for sipping moonshine

or water and ice.

~

and if the jar breaks, fails, or is lost to fate

there is always another jar of pickles waiting

for somebody.
