Masquerade

(poems go here) Her face of innocence, No falsetto To shroud ignorance, But her insufferable memoir. Surely there is Much more mentality Behind that screaming cello, Never giving her true self away. Peers think she’s charming, Or rather mundane. They giggle, she doesn’t know Society and its wires, they attest. But she is more than aware, Of the world she lives, For she has resided very deep In its horrors all her life. Oh, she knows what they do, She’s known all the things Society should not require. And how to play their wires skillfully.
