Mass Destruction

I can't fathom
How I can love others
With these claws
Scars
And bruises
Started by others
But ultimately self inflicted

How can I love
When I feel like
The only thing I want to do
Is rip open my skin
With my teeth
And show the truth inside
The depths of my body
That have never seen
The purity of light

I can't fathom
This loathing
And longing
This downward spiral
This tsunami of feeling
That fights itself
And threatens mass destruction
Of the thing it cares about the least
