Master of the Dark
Seconds from breathlessness, minutes from my home. Just a few feet from the hope, of never being alone.
Dreaming of welcoming arms, crying tears of warm rejoice. Who would want to leave, this wonderful place by choice?
But skeleton arms pull me back, my past- happier without me. One more step towards the dark, now unable to breathe.
Instead cold tears of loneliness, scatter across my cheek. I turn to walk into the black, only to hear the skeleton speak.
"you fool" he cried, They celebrate your absence. They never loved you, use your common sense."
"Or come to my side, my child, we're suppose to be alone. No one wants us here, we have no home."
"come back to my arms, back into the dark night. We cant talk to the stars, because, child, we have no light."
Realization hits my broken heart. I was never meant to be a star. I'm forever a dull and sunken bones, a master of the dark.
Seconds from blindness, running away from the light. One last whisper escapes my lips "goodbye sky, you were never mine."
