mastering the art of the journey

Someone once told me to choose the path less traveled It was dark, empty, and dead and I would be alone That seemed hard so I followed the crowd The trip was fun and so was the crowd I danced and laughed smelled the roses I watched the colors swirl as we whizzed pass the flowers I never reached my destination I tried again The same path but alone this time The colors faded out like a bleached shirt The Journey was long, hard and I was alone under a faded sun I never reached my destination Again I sat at a crossroads, confused and in despair I heard a faint whisper Choose the path less traveled... Choose the path less traveled... It still looked dark and lonely but I was out of options I tried it The colors weren't as bright but there was a light peering through the darkness I focused on it and it alone The light led me through things Things that brought tears of joy and tears of sadness The light kept my focus on the destination Every day the light gets brighter I'm still traveling on my never ending journey to master the art of the journey

I wrote this because of the paths that I chose during my undergrad career. During my graduate career I plan to listen to the whispering voice.
