Matches

It came as quick as a spark

In an instant, the darkness was repulsed back

It lit the entire world up

The match that struck down the world

In the darkness, it was calm

Easy, relaxing, even comforting

But then the light came in

The match that lit up the world

With the world shown around me

The awful, tormenting flames

The horrible world that I once lived in

The match that made me wake up
