Material Things

Material Things

this radio only plays one station

this book only has an end

this faucet only drips

this game glitches

this phone only calls one person

these clothes are pretty colors

these jeans have pretty rips

these shoes, pretty expensive

these nails pretty like the others

that car is like desire

that ring is like dignity

that house is like boasting

that bag is like pride

my head stuck tilted down

my phone is always there

my thumbs constant typing

my wallet completely empty

my heart hits the ground

these things are just things

they should not have value

things that are useless

but we see as beauty

we see as superior

these material things.
