Math

Personally, I'm a lover of math I know most cannot relate, but it is not up debate That I anything but hate, in fact, I appreciate The tactics of mathematics But it is not solely because of its numerical nature It is due to my fascination with the fact there is always a solution to every problem Sure, it may take some work and time until you’ve found the answer But if you pounce like panthers into the question, it can be found It is often asked, "When will I ever use this much math again in my life? I highly doubt that I will ever encounter matrices Trigonometry, and geometry Binomials, trinomials Algebra and calculus Why I gotta learn this much math? Because in all honesty, as long as I can count this cash, I'm good" With this mentality, pencils drop along with heads Leaving so much remaining lead in their writing utensils As the instructor aimlessly tries to gain the student's attention She realizes that his conviction is constricting his ability to attain the information It's impossible to teach someone who refuses to learn I don’t intend on preaching & lecturing on how important education is It's just that I could never understand how people could dismiss math as irrelevant When it's a fact that men lie, women lie, but numbers don’t Numbers reveal what mankind doesn’t want to believe Do you know the sum of people want to achieve, But can't due to lack of opportunity? In the presence of recession on the rise and neglected children's cries Not much is offered in what was once known as the land of freedom These 50 states that are claimed "united" have become divided Not by borders, but by lines of hate for each other's race It’s to the point where we try to sway other countries to live how we live In reality we take more than what we give Putting our nation in a debt of trillions Yet citizens continue to crave millions That's a hunger hard to satisfy with more people in less homes Taxes increasing as action's decreasing The wealthy prosper as the poor shall suffer But both classes have potential to poorly raise children of our future That may end up delinquents in this cold world they’re born in With exteriors of soldiers before they’re even sworn in They get shot down like one, prepare for mothers' mourning Too many guns are being fired by men Not only the ones above the waist, but also the one below it It takes one shot to take a life, and one shot to make a life Nowadays, teenage pregnancy is orthodox Because legs open too easily before the lock's sealed with a wedding ring I understand, though, in the heat of the moment, it's instant But there ain't enough father figures for these infants I enroll in courses like Accelerated Math and Statistics With the intention of preventing myself from being one There are countless problems in this world But just like math, with work and time, they can be solved So the next time you're wondering why does math matter, Just remember that there's more to it than numbers.
