Max

I am full of grief

I wonder why life has to be so cruel

I hear the bells from his collar

I see him jumping onto my bed cozying into his spot

I want my best friend back

I am broken

I pretend that I never had him

I feel like the last seventeen years never happened

I touch his blanket

I worry that I will forget him

I cry when I think about the day I let him go

I am full of grief

I understand that he was sick

I say that we could have helped him longer

I dream that he would come back one day

I try to forgive myself for letting him go

I hope that he is happy

I am broken

I love you Max
