May The Angels Dance

Tonight may the angels dance
On the pearly floors of Heaven
May they hold each other close and press their lips against one another's
Regardless of gender, they sway to the music
They relax in the arms of their friends, of their lovers
For they are safe
All the angels wanted was to dance
But for them Earth would not allow it

Bullets entered their bodies as they entered the dance floor
In a month of celebration
49 angels were brought into heaven
For loving who they loved
Being who they were
For dancing the night away
As the angels dance in heaven
We remember them today
But we can not stop fighting or remembering
Because we lose family everyday
Angel after angel dances through heavens gates
When will we have a world where we can
Dance
Love
Celebrate
Not on heaven's doorstep
But in our own backyards
