In The Maybe
I want you to remember my name
I want you to look at me and realize you feel the same
Instead I became a standing figurine, irrelevant to your life
Paying attention to the little motions that define you
Do you even notice what I do
Holding my breath when you walk by me, I attempt to compose myself
I day dream- my thoughts are so loud
Time and time again I look out into the crowd
Only to find our secret love is a one way street; a path you obviously have lost directions to
The bell finally sounds and I slowly begin to break apart
Without looking back you walk away and leave with my heart
Someday I will get the courage to say something, but for now I am forced to live in the maybe
