Maybe...

Maybe it was in the way she started to walk

Or possibly in the confident way she started to talk

There was a genuine curve of her smile

Despite the friends she lost all the while

Maybe there was a new way she was thinking

A new feeling inside her that started blinking

She found something inside of herself

And was terrified to bring it down from the shelf

Through all of her downfalls;

All of the scratches, cuts, and hits

She gained a love that healed it all

And it all ended up being worth it

Her mind was finally home free

All because she decided self love was something she wanted to see
