Maybe

There she laid,

Cold and barren.

Having hope that she would conceive.

But did not.

Doctors said it could be done.

But it could not.

Several family history records withheld.

Information of previous incidents similar to her own.

Unreceived, undocumented, unknown.

Had she known...

Had we known...

Had I known...

Then maybe just maybe we would have a baby.

Then maybe just maybe we would have her.
