Maybe

Maybe I was too fast, To acknowledge your presence in my life, This feeling hurts too hard to recall, And so bitter to regurgitate, The scars are infusing so deeply, The pain inflicted was too much, Now the skin is unable to withstand, Like chipelon wind my mind is blown, Seeing the bird I nursed for decades flying higher, Into the 7th cloud disappearing so slowly. Maybe I was too naïve, To realize the need of your presence, I know time was of essence, Holding it back I really wished, Believe it I really tried, My fingers on the touch screen froze, On an esoteric sunny day, yet the land breeze, These words were too ugly to vomit, I know they left bruises behind, I must admit. Maybe this was meant to be, You may wonder how could it be, But the bucket developed holes, Holding the drops was too hard. As the wind was seen blowing harshly, Opposing your direction unkindly. Maybe this was your destiny, On the way of your love journey. Maybe a journey to Malekwete, Where life turned uglier. Maybe, and only maybe.

Maybe, is a poem talking about two people who were once lovers but broke up.
