Maybe
Maybe he doesn’t know me,
Maybe we’ve never spoken a day in our lives,
Maybe he’s my best friend right now,
Maybe the thought of a girl right now gives him the hives…
Maybe I’m that one that appears in his dreams,
Maybe I’m the one to whom he’s dedicated the heart on his sleeve,
Maybe he prays to have me every night,
Maybe he thinks about me as highly as he does a sneeze…
Maybe if I see him now, he’ll run and give me a hug,
Maybe he’ll confess all, that I’m his one true love,
Maybe he’ll try to ease his feelings out, one at a time,
Maybe I’m someone of whom right now, he’s just plain sick of…
Maybe I’m desperately wanting him to see me,
Maybe he’s desperately wanting me in return,
Maybe we’re totally meant for each other,
Maybe neither of us think we’re someone the other deserves…
Maybe you’re thinking of me now,
Maybe you’re just praying up a girl
Maybe she fits my description,
Maybe thoughts of me make you want to hurl…
Maybe I’ll just keep waiting,
Maybe we will one day see,
Maybe after all these dreams,
Maybe you and I will see we’re meant to be…
