Maybe

If I were a tree I’d be too tall for you to climb limb for limb I’d give you plenty of shade from the sun when you needed a reprieve However, I wouldn’t be strong enough to shield you from the rain The fruit off of my branches is yours to harvest But the best fruit are those developed high above your reach For those are the farthest With varying seasons You may see my leave fall My branches tire and wither My bark is subject to change in the winter In the spring I begin to wake My surrounding environment begins to bloom When the summer comes You’ll see me at my best Maybe then you may even climb my branches limb for limb Reaching my most cherished fruit Defeating my test Care for me well And I may someday save you from the rain I’ll be something personal You’ll look back on time and time again My roots are planted firmly in the ground Here ever waiting for you to come back around As time goes on I become another living thing worn Memories faded My branches torn My seed disperse I eventually die I implore you Do not cry I won’t let you be forlorn This day of my death is special Uniquely so Know that new life shall has been born The cycle continues.
