Maybe i write for inspiration
Maybe I write for inspiration.
When asked what I wrote for? I broke down in tears.
I answered (sobbingly),
“Sometimes I write for desperation, for all of us who feel alone, sometimes I write conversations for those who live in desperation, mostly I write in celebration!”
Maybe I don’t know why the cage bird sings, maybe I can’t paint with the colors of the wind, but I can feel them coursing through me.
Poetry is art, through it I am art, I am desolation, I am conversation, I am desperation, maybe I write for me, to feel, to hope, to wander, to hold and discover and to be human. Art is an imitation of life and life an imitation of art. Humanity at its best is a paradox and that’s what I write for.
