Maybe It's You
You were right
When you said
I was lost
Way in over my head
You kissed me
Tasted the disbelief on my lips
You held me close
Fingertips tight on my hips
You aren't even close
To having enough
Letting me go
Just isn't enough
You said my name
I turned around
You weren't there
Like a ghost
Gone
When I need you the most
I asked for help
Screamed out for it
No one came
Like it's a game
You get under my skin
And it's a crying shame
You can't stay longer
That you won't let these feelings
Grow stronger
We both know
If you would just let go
You could have the world
In the palm of your hand
All it would take
Is just one time
One night
One lie
I overdose
Just looking at you
Those dark eyes
Those hands
You are everything
I never wanted
Everything
I always ran from
You get me close
Right where you want me
And then you let me fall
Let me drown
Like it's too much
Having me so close
And I start to wonder
Can't help but think
If you're scared
Just one drink
And you're drunk on me
I don't mind
Never minded
Wasting time
On you
I don't mind
If this is the last time
Last night
Like you said last time
Last night
When you were holding me
You said
I was in over my head
And maybe you're right
Maybe I can't get through
One night
Without needing you
But maybe it's you
That overdoses
Without me
Maybe it's you
