Maybe One Day

Dear Crush,

You won’t read this declaration

Or maybe you will,

But here is my heart’s ovation

So take your time, get your fill.

How shall I start?

What about your voice?

Or perhaps how you stole my heart?

Either would be my choice.

The way you sing to me,

It goes straight through my bones.

So beautiful and carefree

All those lovely tones.

Your smiles, jokes, and hugs

Along with those 3 a.m. car rides

Are like my own addictive drug

That flays my heart open wide.

There’s so much to write

So much to reveal

Which is alright,

Because you need to know how I feel.

Hopefully one day you will know

How much you mean to me.

I’m tired of taking this slow.

When will you and I become we?
