Maybe One Day

She fell deeper and deeper as she looked into his eyes, feeling as though she was soaring through the sky.

Butterflies filling her stomach as his lips curved to a smile, he somehow made her happier than she had felt in a while.

The thump of her heart pounding in her chest, she often wondered if her feelings would ever rest.

He made her feel different than she had with any other guy, so she couldn’t understand why around him she was always so shy.

Her feelings grew deeper with every passing day, now she tries to text him but doesn’t know what to say.

Looking at his name on her phone as the minutes pass by, she can’t even bring herself to simply say hi.

She’s scared of being rejected...of being turned down, all because of these feelings she somehow found.

Laying in her bed at night wondering “why me”, “Why did I have to catch these feelings that he can’t seem to see?”

He stole her heart at the most random time, now she’s letting out her feelings in a silly little rhyme.

Sitting here wishing he felt the same way, but all she can do is hope...maybe someday.
