Maybe One Day....

Maybe one day,

I’ll be strutting down the halls,

A picture of confidence and beauty,

Flowing brown hair and a flapping lab coat

On the way to save a life

But I’m not sure I can be her

That confidence seems unachievable

She’s so far off in the distance, that doctor,

Standing here now makes her seem unreachable

But when I diagnose my first patient

Feel the first thrill of saving someone,

I’ll finally feel that confidence

And the doctor, so full of life and self-esteem

Will be the same person as the nerdy, nervous girl of now.
