Maybe Tomorrow...
Maybe I will fold my clothes tomorrow,
they sit in the corner of my room, they've been there for days
But lately, doing anything is too draining
I'm tired
I'm tired even when I sleep for 12 hours or more
I'm exhausted beyond measure.
Unable to lift a finger or even open my eyes
I can't bear to look in the mirror to see what I've become
and there isn't anything to be done
I could have stopped when I began to spiral but I let myself fall.
I can't remember when depression just followed me
like a shadow, quietly trailing my every move.
I can't remember what it was like before it consumed me
before I was drowning in it.
Before It filled my body, stealing the air from my lungs.
The surface so close yet forever out of my grasping hands,
I am clutching to what little air I have left,
Maybe tomorrow I'll swim to the surface
Maybe tomorrow I'll fold my clothes.
