Maybe We Were just Looking for Love

Growing up, I always wondered why people stayed. why they held onto someone who was hurting them. I asked, ''Why didn't they leave? until one day, I understood. maybe it was the months, maybe it was the years. maybe it was all the memories that made letting go feel impossible. Maybe it was love... or maybe it was the hope that the person they loved would finally change. Maybe they saw a heart underneath the hurt and believed they could bring it back. Maybe they were waiting for the love they always dreamed of. Because sometimes, we don't know what love is supposed to be. No one sits us down and teaches us the difference between love and control, between care and pain, between holding on and losing ourselves. So we learn from what we see. From the stories around us. From the love we grew up watching. And sometimes we have to learn that real love isn't supposed to break us. Real love is gentle, Real love is safe. Real love lets you be yourself. they were just hoping to finally find the true love they always wanted
