maybe we weren't

maybe we were never meant to win

maybe we were always meant to win

will we ever know?

winning this game is something foreign to people like us

people with scars and bruises which have never been shown

people who have a story behind the look in their eyes

the ones who fought for their place in this world

who chose to be here

the ones who chose to play the game

playing the game isn't an action

it's an art form

the art of letting a lie pass through your lips

the art of making masks out of paper mache

and hiding who we are

so we can have a chance

to play the game

some people don't have a chance to play the game

they are held in jail cells

inside their minds

locked inside

and unable to escape

drowning in tidal waves

of depression and anti-depressants

begging to be released of the monster inside

who always kept them

from playing the game

or having a chance to even know about the game

some people don't deserve to play the game,

some poeple play just to keep others from playing

some lose just to keep the peace

others win for the wrong reasons

but the real question

is how do you win a game

that has no directions
