The Maze

Three deep breaths

and a whisper in the dark

with the whirl of the wind

and my throat in my heart

change is near

through the dusk and the dawn

with fear in my ears

oh change is here

I never knew fear

until eighteen candles stood tall and clear

and whispered that forward is the only way out

with my heart too strong

and my head full of doubt

Yet an ultimate comfort is what I feel

we're all floating by

trading glances from time to time

to guage if we're meeting expectations

of our shadows through the night

With the fog clouding my vision

yet my heart forever clear

The only way out is through

I will overcome my fears
