The Maze

A bend in the maze.

A tangle of dark passages.

Ambushed,

Attacked,

Set upon by thieves and murderers.

Sputtering torches.

Encroaching darkness.

Lost,

Disoriented,

Unable to find your way.

Footsteps approaching.

Someone draws near.

Hunting,

Searching,

Looking for a victim.

Nowhere safe.

Impossible to hide.

Trapped,

Afraid,

Terrified of death.

A beam of light.

A gap in the darkness.

Rescued,

Delivered,

Saved.
