A Maze of Bright Smiles

dreams;
   elusive and free
   draw upon the cracks
      of carefully placed glass

cool to love’s delicate touch,
  warmth escapes into the jungle
how can this be?
    utters the quiet voice of curiosity

prying apart the shards of heart,
  he glimpses searing pain
      burning upon itself,
an endless flame

disguised through an endless
                 maze of bright smiles
it remains strong

and yet,
  replacing the shard
    he disappears

everything is fine.
