Me

Maturing so quickly

Childhood gone in a flash,

Where to start Where to end,

Try to remember who I am

Try to remember who I use to be

Try to remember who I can be.

Living carefree as a child was neat

Riding my bike up and down the street

Running around on the ground barefeet

Smelling the aroma of everything sweet,

I did not notice the evil or good

Running around in my own neighborhood,

As a child I was very innocent

Watching for evil was not of significance.

I want to survive, I want to complete

Living a life just for me

Responsible teenager living the dream

Straight A’s with a high self-esteem,

My legs becoming too long for my jeans

And my arms not quite covered by my sleeves.

As I grew the world became vile

As for me it did not defile,

I will not make a mess

And surely won’t stress

For in the future, I will have success,

People were negative I had to escape

The world’s my nemesis

Welcome to your tape!
