This is me

This is me

Just another mask wearing teen

tryig to make his way

in this crazy upside down nightmare

we call life.

This is me,

but I'll never let you see

what the pain does to me,

because everyone expects

for me to be

respectful and smart

no matter what I want.

This is me,

the marionette being pulled

a thousand different ways

by a million different strings.

All of which are telling me

to do different things that would make you

shudder at the thought

of not knowing who

you really are in this world

or what you want to do

with your life.

This is me,

The broken toy

that's been bruised

and discarded so many times

that there can be no trust

among the group of those

that call themselves

friends.

But when it comes down to it,

they all flee at the sight

of any real problems I start

to display.

This is me,

the real boy with real struggles

who tries to make life better

through the ordeals of

abusive parents

and all of the normal

problems every teenager

goes through this at some point.

These feeling of loneliness

in the midst of a crowd.

These feelings of hunger

when surrounded at a feast.

All just trying to calm our inner beasts.

We try to climb the tree

of life, that points to the clouds

and says,

"Isn't that neat?"

We all just try to get through

and not get beat,

but that was your introduction, and

This is me.
