Me
I am freckled
And I may look like a child
But I want to be treated like an adult
I am quiet
And I may be silent most of the time
But all the best dreamers are
I am rainbow-eyed
And I may be sad
But it reminds me that I do have happiness somewhere on the inside
I am scared of living
And I may be timid
But I somehow throw back the curtains every day to let in the sun
I am alone sometimes
And I may act indifferent to it
But sometimes all I want is someone to share my loneliness with
I am short
And many may tower over me
But I hope one day to have my voice heard and to be seen among the crowd
I am closed-off
And it may seem like I have no problems
But usually bad thoughts drag me down when no one sees
I am protective of my heart
And I hid it in a locked drawer for safe-keeping
But one day I'll give the key to someone I trust to protect it
I am creative
And sometimes I may get lost in my own mind
But the beauty I can create overshadows the dark thoughts I sometimes have
I am forgetful
And I may seem uncaring because of it
But I always remember the little details many people often overlook
I am optimistic
And I choose to view life with a positive outlook
But despite the harshness of reality I always try to keep my head up
I am beautiful
And I may not always believe it
But I realize now true beauty comes from within, and I like it more that way
I am me
And I still may have no idea just who that is
But day by day, I'm learning it is exactly who I want to be
